Biography

Oumou graduated from Dijon, France Business School in 1982. She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of ONECCA Senegal (Ordre national des Experts Comptables et Comptables Agréés du Sénégal) which is an IFAC member.

She started as an Accountant then Financial Administrator at the Ford Foundation West Africa Regional Office in Dakar from 1984 to 1991. After that, she joined a pilot project named “Research and Support Program for Farmers Associations” which led to the creation of the West Africa Rural Foundation, where she served as Financial and Administrative Director. She founded MECA in 1999, which has a portfolio of clients mainly comprised of non-profit entities.

“I am excited to be part of the IFR4NPO initiative as I am interested in the increased adoption of accrual accounting in the African non-profit sector in order to enhance transparency and to foster financial sustainability of African organizations”.
