Biography

Karina joined the Henri Dunant Centre in 2022, having previously been Finance Manager at the World Council of Churches since 2020. She was originally appointed to PAG as a representative of the audit profession by the Forum of Firms, but retains her post in her individual capacity.

She was a member of KPMG Moscow before joining the Swiss firm in 1997. She worked at a US GAAP reporting group in Brazil from 2001-2003, which added to her extensive experience in audit and advisory services to multinationals and not-for-profit organizations with international reporting of varied size and complexity.

Karina serves on a number of international audit and advisory engagements and was a member of the KPMG Switzerland IFRS advisory group.

Karina led audits and assurance-related services for various commercial and not-for-profit clients including International Federation of Red Cross, Global Fund, GAVI Alliance, International Council of Nurses, Kofi Annan Foundation, World Council of Churches, World Medical Association, amongst others. Karina frequently advised on complex IFRS issues, and periodically taught IFRS updates internally and externally. She was a member of the IFRS advisory group for KPMG Switzerland.

She has more than 10 years of experience working for Swiss, IFRS and US GAAP reporting clients in the profit and not-for-profit sector and has personal work experience in charities such as Geneva Red Cross and volunteer assistance for migrants.

She was regularly involved in grant audits including multi-country coordination of donor reporting for the EC, Ukaid (DFID), AusAid, Norway, Denmark, and Swiss Confederation. She regularly performed reviews of the overseas components of client affiliates in Asia, Africa, US and Europe.
