Biography

Mark has over 40 years of experience working in 20 countries, focusing on audit, governance, institutional capacity assessment and development, and administration.

After eight years in the British Civil Service (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food), he joined KPMG and qualified as a chartered accountant.  He was based in Southeast Asia (mainly Vietnam and Laos) as audit director and partner from 1996 to 2016, where he built up KPMG’s work for emerging economies and the not-for-profit sector.

Mark left KPMG and joined the Green Climate Fund in 2017 as Head of the newly established Internal Audit Office, where he had the opportunity to set up the office from scratch.  For the last year at the Fund, he was Head of the Office of Risk Management and Compliance, developing risk, compliance and sustainability frameworks, policies, and processes.

Mark retired from the Green Climate Fund in August 2023 and is now based in Vietnam.
